Carmageddon (Carmageddon: Carpocalypse Now on the title screen) was a top-down 2D vehicle combat game, released for the GameBoy Color handheld platform in 2001. It was developed by Aqua Pacific and published by Interplay. It is based on Carmageddon II.
There are 8 groups of levels, each containing 3 regular levels and 1 mission level. The aim of the regular levels is to complete the race, running down as many zombies as possible along the way. The player cannot actually damage or waste other racers[confirmation needed] unless the mission requires it, although opponents can damage the player in any level. If time runs out, the player's car will come to a halt then explode.
